Face Lift Surgery – Costa Rica New Look
Face lift surgery candidates are people whose face and neck have begun to droop, but who still have good skin elasticity and facial bone structure.
Facelift surgery address the lower part of your face around your nose, your chin, and your neck. It is quite common to see a Face Lift combined with other cosmetic surgeries to attend to other areas of the face such as the eyes, forehead or the nose.
Your face lift surgery may be performed under general anesthesia. Our plastic surgeon, will make insicions in the natural creases to minimize noticiable scarring. Incisions are usually made in front of your ears, along the temple. The incision then continues around and behind the ear. Through this incision, the doctor will be able to reach the muscle and connective tissue. In most cases, the plastic surgeon will separate the skin from the inderling fat and muscle.
If you have excess facial fat, it may be removed by liposuction technique. If you need to have your neck worked during the face Lift surgery, our plastic surgeon may make an additional incision under your chin so that there is access to your neck.
Our plastic surgeon will close the incisions using very fine sutures or special clips. You will be bandaged to help minimize swelling. It is normal to have some swelling and bruising after surgery. The majority of your bruising and puffines should be gone after 2 or 3 weeks following the surgery. Your own experience may vary during the recovery period.
The average time off work seems to be two weeks after surgery. Postoperative instructions will be discussed with the doctor during all follow up appointments.
