Doctor Oscar Reiche Fischel, DDS
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Doctor Oscar Reiche was the first Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to bring modern techniques of Orthonagtic surgery to Costa Rica.
He received his Dental degree in Surgery at the University of Costa Rica in 1989.
From 1990 to 1991, he completed residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami, Miami FL.
From 1991 to 1995 he completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, TX.
Dr. Reiche completed an internship from 1995 to 1996 with Orthognatic, TMJ and Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship, Baylor - Texas A & M Medical Center / Baylor College of Dentistry, Dallas, TX
He received the "Best Graduation Thesis Award" on the topic: ''Estabilidad posquirúrgica en la maxila, luego de una osteotomía Le Forte I, Comparative Study¨ Colegio Cirujanos Dentistas, San José, Costa Rica.
Dr. Reiche is an Undergraduate and Graduate professor at the Latin American University of Science and Technology ULACIT Costa Rica and also member and representative for Costa Rica before the World Town Council of the International Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
He is a prominent speaker in the country and outside the country as well; he has published multiple scientific articles in his field.
He served as a resident Maxillofacial Surgeon in the Calderón Guardia Hospital, one of the biggest, best known and accredited hospitals in the country.
He is a member of the Latin American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons ( A.P.E.C.O.M.I ), The American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (A.A.O.M.S); a Fellow at the Costa Rican College of Dental Surgeons, Asociación Latinoamericana de Cirugía y traumatología Buco Maxillofacial.
