Doctor Guillermo Guzman Amaro
General Surgery and Surgical Oncologist

Dr. Guzman is one of the most prestigious, experienced and qualified specialists in General Surgery and Surgical Oncology.

From 2000 to 2007 Dr. Guzman Amaro has worked and studied during his residency at the Max Peralta Hospital of Cartago and acted as chief of Surgery in the Oncology Department together with his father and mentor Dr. Luis Guillermo Guzman Loria.

From 1967 to 1973 he worked as an assistant surgeon at the same hospital.

He performed duties as Chief of the Surgery Department from 1983 to 1995

Dr Guzman was Hospital Director of the Max Peralta Hospital in Cartago city from 1974 to 1982

He was chief of the surgery division from 1996-2005

In the last few years Dr. Guzman Loria has concentrated his vast experience in his private practice and works together with Dr. Guzman Amaro in many surgical procedures

Education

He received his General Surgery degree at the University of Costa Rica in 1992. Between 1992 and 1993 he obtained his MD and Doctorate.

From 1995 to 2000 he completed his Post-Degree in Oncology also at the University of Costa Rica and CENDEISS

He has held consultation in his private practice since 2000 and is fully bilingual English/Spanish.
