Doctor Santiago Enriquez provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy for our patients in Costa Rica, who have undergone plastic and reconstruction surgery. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has helped to speed up the healing process which shortens the patient recuperation time. Many patients have received pre and post treatments after facelifts, breast reduction or enlargement, tummy tucks and other procedures, they have had a reduction in swelling and bruising after hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Smokers are strongly encouraged to stop smoking and receive hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatments prior to surgery. Some physicians will not perform an elective surgery on a patient who smokes if they do not stop smoking and receive hyperbaric oxygen therapy prior to their procedure.
